A 1950s serving tray in black metal with a stunning decor of purple pansies in wonderful colours. Designed by Piero Fornasetti. Made in Italy, Milan. 

Wear due to its age (see pictures!), but the flowerdecor is very well preserved. On the right edge there is a small dent in the middle.

With Fornasetti label :

Pour le nettoyer frottez-le avec un chiffon de coton

moelleux qu'on peut humecler, mais gardez-vous bien

d' employer de la laine. De temps en

temps passez un peu de "POLISH", et

vous lui garderez sa beauté.

Translation: "This item is alcohol and hot water resistant. To clean it, rub it with a soft cotton cloth that can be moistened,but be careful not to use wool. From time to time use a little ‘POLISH’, and it will keep its beauty."

 

Piero Fornasetti was an Italian artist and designer, born in 1913 in Milan and he passed away in 1988. Fornasetti's work often featured whimsical and surreal motifs, such as the sun, the moon, playing cards, animals, ...

The Fornasetti  Atelier was and is known for its eclectic and imaginative designs of furniture, furnishing accessories, precious porcelain and textiles.
